We are seeking an experienced and qualified Safe Pass Trainer to deliver Safe Pass training to individuals working or preparing to work in the construction industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, professional and informative training in line with the requirements of the SOLAS Safe Pass Programme, ensuring participants understand their responsibilities regarding health, safety and safe working practices on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Safe Pass training in accordance with current SOLAS requirements and approved training standards.
  • Provide clear, engaging and professional instruction to all participants.
  • Cover the required Safe Pass course content, including workplace health and safety, site safety, personal safety, accident prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Ensure all training materials and presentations are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain a safe, professional and inclusive learning environment.
  • Answer participant questions and provide appropriate guidance throughout the training.
  • Conduct any required assessments or examinations in accordance with Safe Pass procedures.
  • Accurately complete and maintain all required course attendance and assessment records.
  • Ensure all participants meet the necessary requirements for successful completion of the course.
  • Report any issues, incidents or concerns to the appropriate contact.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation, company procedures and SOLAS requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Current and valid SOLAS-approved Safe Pass Trainer qualification/approval.
  • Relevant experience delivering Safe Pass training.
  • Strong knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to complete required training documentation accurately.
  • Professional and reliable approach to work.
  • Commitment to maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation and safety requirements.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience working within the construction industry.
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications.
  • Experience delivering training to groups.
  • First Aid or other relevant safety qualifications.

Documentation Required

Prior to commencing work, the successful trainer may be required to provide:

  • Evidence of current SOLAS Safe Pass Trainer approval/qualification.
  • Relevant training and health & safety certificates.
  • Proof of identity and right to work, where applicable.
  • Public Liability Insurance, where required.
  • Any other documentation required by the organisation or training provider.

Working Arrangements

The role will involve delivering Safe Pass training on an agreed date and at an agreed location. The trainer will be expected to arrive in advance of the course start time to prepare the training environment, materials and attendance documentation.
