The aim of this course is to provide the candidate with a theoretical knowledge and the practical skills; to recognise the risks of unsafe practices involved in patient moving and handling as required by the Health& Safety Regulations.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

Under the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations, 2007, it is a requirement that ALL employees attend Patient Moving & Handling Training with particular emphasis on anyone who is engaged in the Healthcare sector

COURSE CONTENT

  • Health and Safety Legislation
  • The Musculoskeletal System
  • Patient Moving Risk Assessment T.I.L.E.
  • carrying out a range of patient handling tasks including, supporting, standing, transferring, sliding, rolling, gliding and sitting. 
  • Safe patient moving
  • Anatomy of the spine and muscular system
  • The basic principles of Safe working practice

DURATION: 8 hours

DELIVERY: Theory and Practical based training

ASSESSMENT: Tutor assessed delivered by a Qualified Instructor (NFQ Level 6)

CERTIFICATION: GSW Solutions Training Certification –

COST: €80 per person

RENEWAL it is recommended that training should be re visited not more than three (3) years.
